us, we are David Leonard and Roselyn Lionheart. We have been making
music and performing together all over the world since 1959. If
you do know us, then you might have seen us performing at the New
Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, on the Smithsonian Institute's
PBS "River of Song" documentary, at the Umbria Jazz Festival
in Italy, or on the streets of the famous French Quarter in New

 Remembering
Ailene Butler
Roselyn's mother Ailene passed
on to her reward on February 20, 2002. Ailene moved to Flint, Michigan
with her family when she was three. As an adult, she became a groundbreaking
leader in Flint and the surrounding community, working for civil
rights and social justice as well as running her own business, long
before women were commonly accepted in such roles.
